BLogging, Next Steps

Google Group for Blogging Support: http://groups-beta.google.com/group/mwbloggers
- Go to http://www.blogger.com. Log in with your gmail account, if you have one, or set on up.
- Come up with a title for your blog, such as [LIBRARY NAME] Blog. This title appears at the top of the webpage, and in the top blue bar at the top of the browser.
- Fill in the URL. You get to pick the letters/numbers that go between the "http://" and "blogpost.com"

Verify you are a human completing this form by following the "Word Verification" directions - just fill in the letters you see on your screen in the field.
- Click “Continue.”
- Choose a template by
clicking "Use This Template" underneath the sample screen that you like the looks of. Don’t worry, you can always change it later!
- Click "New Post"
- Try creating two or three posts. Make them all look different! Change the font style, color, size… center, number, add bullets… experiment!
- Then, click “Edit Posts,” and change them.
Note that when you are in your blog post screen there are 4 tabs:
SETTINGS
- On the Basic screen, preview and change title, description, and directory options
- On the Publishing screen, you can change the URL of your blog.
- On the Formatting screen, set your time zone and timestamp options
- On the Comments screen, set your commenting preferences to disallow or screen comments
- On the Archiving screen, select frequency and style of archives
- On the Site Feed screen, set your feed preferences
- On the Email screen, choose to post by email, or to email posts
- On the Members screen, invite others to post to your blog – they must set up their own Blogger account to do, NEVER share your username and password
TEMPLATES
- Click the “Template” tab
- Drag and drop to move elements
- Click to add page elements
- Click "Pick New" to choose a new color scheme and layout
- Click “Use this Template” when you find one you like
- Republish if prompted when done
AUDIOBLOGGING
- Set up a FREE Account with Gabcast at http://www.gabcast.com
- Create a channel and connect your Blogger Beta account (note: you'll have to log into gmail to approve the connection!)
- Call 1-800-749-0632
- Enter your channel number and press #
- Enter your password and press #
- Press 1 to post
- Record your post
- Press # when finished
- Log into Blogger and approve your audio post!
